Terrence T. Leonard, age 72, died Friday, February 3, 2012 at St. Clares Hospital of Dover, NJ. Terrence lived in Liberty Township, NJ for the past 25 years coming from the Roselle and Elizabeth, NJ area and was born September 20, 1939 in Newark, NJ. He is the son of the late Leo Lawrence and the late Kathleen (Ryan) Leonard. He was married Elizabeth Williams Leonard.
Terrence proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 10/28/1957 to 09/30/1963 and was honored to serve in the 101st Airborne Division. He was employed by Randolph Township Board of Education for many years as a Maintenance Mechanic and was also a certified electrician. He was a proud graduate of the former Holy Trinity High School of Westfield, NJ, class of ’57. He was a member of the Randolph Education Association serving as the former Grievance Chair as well as working with the negotiating team.
He is survived by his wife: Elizabeth(Williams) Leonard, 4 sons: Terrance P. Leonard, Sean Kelly Leonard, Joseph P. Leonard, Ryan John Thomas Leonard; 1 Brother: Leo Lawrence Leonard, Jr., 1 step daughter: Veronica Stevens and 9 loving grandchildren.
The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 7 at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Fr. David Pekola officiating. Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ.
Calling hours will be Monday, February 6 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J..
