Stephen L. Berstler, Jr., age 22, of Chester, NJ died Friday, December 30, 2011 in New York, NY. Stephen was born September 7, 1989 in Hackettstown, N.J...He is the son of Stephen L. Berstler Sr.and Sandra Basenese. 

Stephen was a junior at Salisbury University in Maryland, and wanted to be a Teacher of Physical Education and High School coach and Personal Trainer. Stephen would have been a student teacher this year. Stephen was very active in Track & Field at the College Cross County level and also wrote for the Salisbury Sports Newspaper on Campus at Salisbury University in Maryland. Stephen was a lifelong resident of Long Valley, NJ, and was a member of the Grace  Church.

He is survived by ; his father Stephen L. Berstler Sr. of Chester, NJ.  his mother Sandra Basenese. of Hackettstown, NJ; Brother of Sara Jean Berstler and Michael Paul Berstler; maternal grandfather, Michael Paul Basenese Sr..

The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Monday, February 13 at Grace Church, Route 46 East, Netcong, NJ, 07857 with Pastor Armin Sommer officiating. Burial will be in Stanhope Union Cemetery, Stanhope on Monday, February 13.
