Luisa Ricciardelli, age 85, Wyckoff, formerly of Allamuchy Township NJ died Monday, April 27, 2015 at Christian Health Care Center, Wyckoff, NJ. Luisa was born August 5, 1929 in Genoa, Italy. She is the daughter of the late Luigi and Yolanda (Taricco) Romano. She was also predeceased by her husband, John Joseph Ricciardelli in 1984. Luisa came to the United States in 1946 with her family settling in Richmond Hill, Queens. She met her husband, John, through family members and they were married August 30, 1953. She was a homemaker who loved to cook for her family, she was the loving caregiver to her late mother and husband, was a talented seamstress and gifted with finances. She enjoyed walking and spending time with her friends. She was a fiercely independent, humble, private person, who would do anything for her family, being supportive and caring mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother meant the world to her. She maintained an independent lifestyle until her Alzheimer’s dementia prevented her from living on her own. She became a member of the Christian Healthcare (Wyckoff, New Jersey) family years ago, thriving in their care. We would like to thank the caregivers at Christian Healthcare for their excellent service to Luisa, directly, and her family, indirectly. She is survived by 2 sons; John and his wife Debbie, Larry and his wife Jeanne, 4 grandchildren; Danielle Ricciardelli, Lisa Kearney and her husband Dennis, John Ricciardelli, III and his wife Andrea, Eric Ricciardelli and his wife Lauren, 2 great grandchildren; Ellen Luisa Kearney and Laura Viola Kearney. Visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 on Thursday, April 30th, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at the funeral home at 9:30 am with the Father David Pekola officiating. Burial will follow services at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. For those desiring donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1365 in memory of Luisa.
