Mrs. Thornton, Greg, Jeff, Chris and family,
I'm so sorry and saddened to hear of your dads passing. I spent so many years around him and have only fond memories of times we were together. As I write this, I find myself reminiscing, smiling and crying about those memories. I wish I could be there with you all tonight, but I am away from the area and unable to attend. Please know that I am thinking of you all and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Gerry will continue to live with and among us who knew him and loved him; in the glint of humor in the eye, the competitive spirit of one who lives with passion and purpose, and the simple blessing of someone who is a true friend. All these things will remind me of him, and will make me so grateful that his life intersected with mine.
