Eleu “Helen” Gonder, age 87, of Hickory, NC died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, NC.  Helen was born April 29, 1928 in Dover, NJ.  She was predeceased by her husband, William F. Gonder, Jr. in 2002, her daughter; Deborah Gonder Troxell in 2003, her brother Clifford Beam, brother and sister in law; Larry and Wilma Beam, her sister and brother in law; Gladys and Elmer Beam.

She was employed by Mount Olive Board of Education for 30 years retiring as the Cafeteria Manager.  Helen was an Ambassador and very active member of Pinecrest Retirement Village, she loved to crochet, was an avid reader and enjoyed word puzzles. 

She is survived by 2 sons; William F. Gonder wife Lisa, Dale Gonder and wife Jeannie; 5 grandchildren; Jenna, Laura, Jeffrey, Daniel and Mark, 4 great grandchildren, Katelyn, Jacob, Lucas and Brooklyn, many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 26 at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Pastor Andrew Brackmann officiating.  Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chester following services.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, August 25 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J..

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arthritis Foundation, 555 Route 1 South, Suite 220, Iselin, NJ 08830 in memory of Helen.

Dear William, Lisa & entire Gonder family. My Wife Robin and I are very sorry to hear of Mrs. Gonder's passing. We have no words of comfort of our own, but ask our Heavenly FATHER comfort you all as HE alone can. Dear Aunt Helen you will be missed by so many. You were one of the kindest souls I ever met. I am sure you are dancing in Heaven and someday we will dance again. Please keep everyone busy up there as I know you will. Lov, Kathy
