Joan Bova Curcio, age 81, of Hackettstown died Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Merry Heart Nursing Home of Succasunna, NJ. Joan was born July 28, 1937 in Deal, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Ralph and the late Mary (Lagratoria) Bova. She was pre deceased in death by her husband Angelo Curcio, Jr. and by her son Brian Curcio
She is survived by one daughter, Madeline and Husband Jim DeSimone, one son Patrick Curcio and her Grandchildren, Anthony and Marisa.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Deacon Keith Harris officiating.
Calling hours will be Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., Cremation is private.
This lovely lady was my kindergarten teacher. She was patient and kind and made every one of us feel loved. I can't imagine how many hundreds of lives started out with her warmth. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.

Joan was my kindergarten teacher. I am now 44 years old and a teacher myself. I have many memories of my time in her classroom.she was wonderful. God bless.

Good bye Joan. You put up a good fight and will be remembered forever. We had many good years playing bridge on Monday nights and fun times at the Jersey Shore with Barbara Burrell. You are now in a better place and with Angelo. Rest in peace till we meet again.
