Loni Bongiorno, age 44, of Hackettstown, NJ died unexpectedly at UMDNJ in Newark on Monday morning, January 28, 2013. Loni Paul Bongiorno was born May 1, 1968 in Passaic, NJ and spent most of his life in Green Township. He is the son of Wayne and the late Elaine (Gill) Bongiorno.
He attended Newton High School in Newton, NJ and then attended Keysone College in Pennsylvania where he received an Associates Degree. He was employed by Weichert Realtors, East Hanover, NJ.
Loni was a good and true friend to all who knew him, he touched many lives with his good humor, contagious smile, strength and compassionate heart. Loni was an avid sport fanatic, loved to travel and especially loved to spend time with his family and friends.
He is survived by ; his father Wayne Bongiorno, Booth Bay, Maine; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Gill of South Dakota; two brothers Paul and his wife Michelle Bongiorno, Byram, NJ and Chad and his wife Shannon Bongiorno, Netcong, NJ; nieces and nephews, Lindsey, Ryan, Jessica & God Son, Jack and extended families that loved Loni.
The funeral will be held 7:30 pm on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.
Calling hours will be Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 4 - 8 PM at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested by the family to the Juvenile Arthritis Foundation, C/O The Arthritis Foundation, PO Box 96280, Washington, DC 20077; please designate on your donation that it is for the "Juvenile Arthritis Foundation" in Loni's memory. Thank you.
