Ignacio Poniatowski,(Iggy/Pops) age 72, a lifelong resident of Port Murray, NJ entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 17, 2012.  Mr. Poniatowski was born July 4, 1939 in Tientsin, China. He is the son of Helen (Stempniak) Poniatowski and the late Joseph Poniatowski.

He retired from the former  American Can Co., (Alcan),Washington, NJ in 2005 after 38 years of service. Lifes greatest pleasures were family, friends, gardening, cars and watching Nascar. He served proudly as a Police officer and volunteer firefighter in Mansfield Twp. earlier in life.  In addition to his father, Ignacio was predeceased by a brother, Zygmunt, and sisters, Wanda, Hedy and Marie.

He is survived by his Mother, 3 sons, all proudly bearing his proud surname, Joseph Anthony  and wife Jenn of Lynn, MA;  Michael Anthony  of Stroudsburg, PA and Stephen Anthony and wife Jody of Nazareth, PA; proud grandchildren, Matthew, Kyle, Ashlan, Katryna, Alex, Derek and Isabelle, along with step grandaughter Samantha; Sisters Regina and husband George Frone, Long Valley, NJ; Elizabeth and husband Jay Sparke, Hackettstown, NJ; Brother Steven Poniatowski and wife Regina, Chesapeake, VA and Sister-in-law, Carol Poniatowski, Hackettstown, NJ; He was Uncle Ig to 12 nieces and nephews, and their children. 

Visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 4-8 pm. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Mountain Church, Long Valley, NJ on April 20, 2012 at 10:30 am. Burial will be in Hackettstown Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ.
