J. and Beatrice Taylor. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on Sept. 10, 1920. As a
child, she moved to Staten Island where she lived for 50 years and was active in the New
Dorp Moravian Church and Richmond County Country Club, as well as being an
accomplished oil painting artist. For 68 years, she was married to her devoted husband,
Walter S. Wetlesen, who predeceased her. They subsequently moved to the Stroudsburg,
PA area where they lived for 25 years before moving to Heath Village in Hackettstown, NJ.
She was a loving mother to her daughter, Carolyn, and her husband, William K. Hoffman
of Virginia. Laurette is also survived by her grandson, Christian, and his wife, Jane, of
New Jersey, parents of Laurette's much beloved great granddaughters, Avery, Claire and
Blythe; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on November 6, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Heath Village,
430 Schooley's Mountain Road, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
