Michael A. Pastorello, age 91, of 201 4th Ave., Hackettstown died Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Heath Village of Hackettstown, NJ. Michael was born April 1, 1922 in Caltanisetta, Sicily . He is the son of the late Giuseppe and the late Nicolina (Giarratano) Pastorello. Michael was married to the late Anna (Rausa) Pastorello.
He served in the Army during the World War II from 1942 to 1945. He was employed by New York City Post Office, NYC. NY as Postal Engineer for many years. Michael was a member of the Our Lady of the Mountain church, Long Valley and the American Legion, Lincoln Park, NJ. He enjoyed action movies, listening to and attending Big Band Concerts, most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sons: Joseph Pastorello and wife Maryann; Benjamin Pastorello and wife Ann, 2 daughters; Ann Marie Van Vooren and husband Joseph and Joanne Pastorello; 1 sister in law; Angelina Dimichino and husband Rocco; 6 grandchildren; Christopher Pastorello and wife Melissa, Nicholas, Jeffery and Gregory Pastorello, Michael Van Vooren and wife Diana, Nicole VanVooren; 1 great granddaughter; Adriana Pastorello.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Our Lady Of The Mountain Church, 2 E. Springtown Rd, Long Valley, NJ with Msgr. Joe Goode officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover following mass. PLEASE note: there will be no viewing or services at the funeral home on Wednesday, please meet at church for all services Wednesday.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.
For those desiring donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, 6725 Lyons Street, P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057 in memory of Michael.

Dear Ann and Joe: Your dear Dad will be sorely missed for his sense of humor and wisdom. You both helped him enjoy these past few years and for this, I know, he was grateful.

Dear Joe – My sincere condolences to both you and your family. Even as your mind knows he will be resting peacefully, it will always hurt in your heart since he will be missed. Sorry that I will not be able to make it in person but wanted you to know that I will be thinking of you during this difficult time.

Dear Dad, We miss you so much already. You have been a great example to us on how to live our lives. We are glad we had the time that you lived with us to get to know you in a differnt way as adults. We will love you always. Give Mom a kiss from us!
