Edward  Bialecki
Died: Mar 24, 2020
Bialecki
Beloved husband and father, Edward T. Bialecki (68) of Long Valley, NJ died Tuesday, March 24th at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, after a year-long battle with cancer and complications from sepsis. He is sorely missed by his wife, Melinda (Uphoff) Bialecki, and daughters, Bridget and Colleen Bialecki. Ed was a family man who enjoyed dinners out with his wife and OAR concerts with his daughters. He had a dry sense of humor and an appetite for junk food. At 6’6” he could afford a few Twinkies, one of his favorites. While he loved donning the mask of a curmudgeon, he had a huge soft spot for the family Yorkie and was quietly a very generous man. Born September 30, 1951, Ed was the only child of the late Edward and the late Vera (Britton) Bialecki. Growing up in Fanwood, Ed’s natural athletic abilities were evident, and he soon had to choose between basketball and baseball. He went on to play college basketball at Catholic University on full scholarship. Subsequently, he acquired an MA at Seton Hall University and an MBA at Manhattan College. Ed worked in the business machines industry for over 40 years, spending the last 26 years with Kyocera Document Solutions (KDS). Starting as a Regional Sales Manager in ’93, he was promoted to VP Sales in ’99, and Senior VP Sales in ’04. When sharing the news of Ed’s passing with co-workers, US President & CEO of KDS Oscar Sanchez commented, “Ed was a professional who led by example, understanding the importance of building trusting relationships with dealers, vendors and colleagues. His warmth and presence within the KDA family will definitely be missed.” As Ed travelled globally for business, he relished playing many of the world’s best golf courses and was known for his excellent game. He also loved thoroughbred horse racing, held partial stakes in many horses over the years, and could quote stats a mile long on any horse he had been following. Accordingly, he had a long affiliation with Zilla Racing Stables. Due to his love of horses, the family asks that donations be sent to: Racing for Home, c/o Sherrie Courtney, 155 Blake Road, Hamden, CT 06517 (www.racingforhomeinc.com). This wonderful, small organization rescues unwanted former racehorses to save them from the abuse that so commonly is the fate of older horses. Here, they live out their natural lives with care, food and shelter. At the request of the family, a memorial service will be held sometime in the future. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown NJ 07840. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.cochranfuneral.com.

Condolences:

My deepest condolences on your loss. I had the privilege of working with Ed for 15 years. During that time I moved my family to NJ to work at the corporate office and was delighted to have an office near Ed. He welcomed me to NJ and always took the time to see how my family and I were settling in. A true gentleman, Ed always took time for me and was always willing to lend an ear and help me work through any difficulty I may be having. I was saddened by the news of his passing and pray the comforting embrace of our Heavenly Father provides peace and comfort to the Bialecki family.

To Ed's Family - - Ed was one of my best friends nearly 40 years ago when we were both starting our careers at Monroe Systems. Ed came to watch a World Series game at my home in Mendham, almost 40 years ago, just about the time the Bialecki family moved to Long Valley. And today, my wife is in our basement sorting out old memorabilia I had saved and she showed me a copy of the "Keynote," which was Monroe's company newsletter. In this issue is a photo of Ed just after he received his MBA from Manhattan College. Seeing Ed in that photo, from so many years ago, reminded me of the many laughs we had together, and our heartfelt conversations. These many years later, Ed remains one of the most steadfast, fun, and honorable people I have met in my life. To Melinda, Bridget and Colleen - - most of the comments here are from people who know your "Ed" as a contemporary. In my case, I was hoping to reconnect after seeing this photograph from 1983. My excitement turned to sadness when I read that Ed is now waiting for us in the Unseen Temple. My prayers are with your family and I can only imagine what a wonderful family you are. Always know that your life partner and dad is with you forever. And that he was one of the best to ever walk the earth. God Bless.

Dear Melinda, Colleen and Bridget - My sincere condolences to you on the loss of Ed. He always spoke of you, the memories of the beach house, the times at the track and the vacations he so enjoyed with so much pride and love. He was always so kind and compassionate to me and always willing to give his sound advice and smile whenever needed. Our lunches in the cafeteria were full of laughs and I will certainly miss him. My heart goes out to you. God Bless.

On behalf of the entire IWBI family, we send our love and thoughts to Colleen and all her family. Though we didn't know Ed, he lives on in many ways, not the least of which is in Colleen's talent, her compassion and humanity. We know Colleen and her family will miss him every day, and we are deeply saddened by their loss.

I feel so terrible about the loss of Ed, he was a good friend for more than 30 years having worked with him both at Sharp and Kyocera. Some of my fondest memories took place with Ed as we attended Super Bowls, Final Fours and more recently the Masters. He was always in his glory when discussing college hoops or horse racing. His ability to balance family, work and recreation was amazing! I will think of him often, particularly around March Madness or when entering the grounds up at Saratoga. As Bucky Waters once told him when discussing his college basketball career..."You had a great run, I remember... ". My sincere condolences to Melinda and his entire family.

My deepest sympathies to the Bialecki family. My story: I first met Ed in 1986 at Sharp electronics, we were co-workers for a short time. I started Technifax office solutions in 1987 and eventually re-connected with Ed in 1998 as a Mita/Kyocera copier dealer. Since, Ed and I became good friends as business partners, many incentive trips (worldwide) and Nat'l sales meetings. Curmudgeon? Yeah you could call Ed that in his later years...peel back a couple of layers , he was a pretty good guy with a good sense of humor! You know what I liked about Ed? Pretty much everything, except his liking for the New York giants, ha! He attended a Monday night game in my Dallas Cowboys suite in 2000 I believe; as you can imagine, the Giants took us to the cleaners that night, Ed just smiled the entire game; we all will miss him!

Ed and I worked together for over 20 years. Ed always knew the right thing to say and the right thing to do in any situation. Ed inspired people by his personal confidence and always made people feel that they were part of a decision. Ed frequently told stories of his wonderful family and put a comical spin on their day to day activities. He also used his Basketball training and experience as a tool to motivate and push people to achieve their own personal goals. Ed was a wonderful colleague and friend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Melinda, Colleen, and Bridget during this difficult time.

Our condolences to Melinda, Bridget and Colleen your Husband and Father was a special man who will be missed by all that knew him. He loved his family more than anything and was so proud of his daughters. I had the privilege of working for Ed but it was my honor to be called his friend. Ed truly cared about everyone who reported to him and he had a unique talent for making everyone he touched feel special. He loved the pony's but his real passion was basketball, he would have made a hell of a coach. Rest in peace my friend.

Melinda, Colleen and Bridget I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I worked with Ed for over 14 years at Kyocera and he was always a voice of reason and a sense of calm for me. Whenever I was at a crossroads into his office I would venture for a good chat. And every good mentoring conversation ended with a great story about his girls. I can still hear him say "hey kiddo" as I would walk in, with that welcoming smile always there to greet me. He never once made me feel like I was bothering him, even when I knew he had better things to do than coach me through an obstacle. Over the years we chatted about OAR, his girls and their careers and apartments, the trips with his wife, the shore house and of course the dogs. Melinda the stories of your dating years and early married years with young girls were always a pleasure to hear. One thing that I will always be grateful for is his mentorship to my husband and I when we took the crazy leap out of corporate and into a dealership recently. I had promised him donuts and a horse race at Monmouth this spring. Sad that we won't have that opportunity. We did chat recently and for that I am grateful. Prayers and thoughts with all of you. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Very Tough loss. Ed has made a positive lasting impression on so many, that's for sure, he was naturally a solid leader. A wonderful person and very clever to always drive the best results in all that he was involved in. I have been fortunate to have worked with and along side of Ed for the last 25 plus years and would not trade that for anything. Ed and I met in 1994 and I worked directly for him for 8 years and loved every minute of it, he was the coolest boss ever. He would dish it out and also he could take it as well. He had the absolute BEST sense of humor on the planet. While he always shot for perfection he could and would engage in many laughs along the way, when applicable he would drive a smiles as only he could. We spent a lot of time one on one working to ensure we were successful with our mission working at Mita and Kyocera over the many years. Ed always committed to pushing to deliver and reach for more, attaining or exceeding expectations was the charter and nothing else would be acceptable. Through all of the years of knowing one another he was always a true gentlemen and was a steady hand with the absolute Ed voice of reason. All who have had the pleasure to getting to know Ed will surely miss his presence and larger then life spirit. Eds departure leaves a void for all of us. I am blessed to have been able to work with and along side for so many years the gentle giant and for that I am beyond grateful. It has been honor to know my friend Ed Bialecki, very special person. RIP big fellow, you are and will always be the absolute BEST! My deepest condolences to Melisa, Bridget and Colleen.

Ed was truly a titan in our industry. His life touched so many who were fortunate to know him. As a professional, he always strived to treat everyone fairly by "doing the right thing". I had the pleasure of working (and socializing) with Ed for over 30 years, having worked together at both Sharp and Kyocera. He would always proudly speak of his wife and daughters, as we would typically end our days sharing an event that might have been occurring in each of our respective families. As successful as Ed's career was, he was more proud of his accomplishment as a devoted husband and loving father. For him to pass during what would have been "March Madness" is truly God sent. His passion for College basketball was second to none. I will forever remember Ed for the joy and fun he would bring to the office everyday. My sincere thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to his wife and children during this time of sorrow. I'm sure Ed is organizing a 3 on 3 basketball game in Heaven as we speak. I will pray for the repose of his soul. R.I.P.

Our hearts go out to the family at this time of sorrow. As a friendly competitor, for many years, I will miss the banter, commiserating, and family stories that we swapped several times a year. Echoing the statements of many, he was positive example, and a world class individual. The industry has lost a pioneer and a friend.he will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. Whenever I think of Ed, it will certainly be his "tall" presence and warm subtle smile and stride of confidence as we passed each other in the hallways of the office. May he rest in peace and may your memories of him bring you comfort.

My sincere condolences to the Bialecki family. I worked with Ed for many years and found him to be a strong leader and wonderful person. His actions, personal discussions and guidance still impact my work and my personal life to this day. Ed was someone who could be counted on to provide advice and direction in a way that was easy to understand and deploy. He was always very accurate in his details, fair in his decisions and logical in his guidance. He led by example and his management style embraced you instead of keeping you at a distance. Ed was one of the key individuals at Kyocera who welcomed me back 5 years ago. He was more than welcoming and he made me feel like I had never left - that there was always a place for me. For all of this, I will always be grateful. I will miss Ed every day.

I worked with Ed at Kyocera for 15 years. Laughter with tears is how I will always remember Ed. We often traded stories of raising entitled pets, one of which included wee-wee pad training and related escapades. Ed - Thank you for teaching me that nothing is "really" funny until you cry. With Love and Respect, my condolences for your loss.

I had the privilege of knowing Ed through Kyocera’s dealer channel. Once we met it was instant understanding and rapport with each other. As time went on, my respect for Ed grew -for his ability to see the dealers side of the industry and make my life and my employees more competitive and ultimately a better company. That quality is rare in our world-Ed was a master of the win - win strategy - May the Lord bless his family - his friends and all us grieving his presence.

I had the privilege of working for Ed at Kyocera for almost a decade. He had a unique God Given Leadership "Presence" about him. He also was able to establish life long relationships with dealers in which "Respect" was often the word that people told me when describing Ed. He was always concerned about those that worked under him and Ed was just, in my opinion.... a born leader. I will miss our business conversations and his wise counsel. But, beyond that I will miss out sports or horse racing conversations. My condolences to the family. Ed was a GREAT Man and I will miss him.
