(Frances) Eleanor Runnalls Dusenberry Poole, age 88, of Heath Village, Washington Twp., (Morris Co.), NJ died Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ. Eleanor was born June 3, 1923 in Greenville Twp., NY. She is the daughter of the late LeRoy and Edna (Smith) Runnalls. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth W. Poole on December 22, 2009.


Eleanor was a 1941 graduate of Port Jervis High School, NY. She earned a RN degree from Mountainside School of Nursing, Montclair and a BS degree from Trenton State College. She was a certified school nurse/social worker for the Bernardsville School system for many years before relocating to High Bridge. She was later a school nurse in Clinton Township. The Pooles retired to Arizona and then relocated to Gretna, VA. They moved to Hackettstown in 1997.
She was a member of the Mountainside School of Nursing Alumni Assoc.; a Lionese of the Lions Club, Gretna, VA;  member of the Order of the Eastern Star; and enjoyed many social activities at Heath Village.

She is survived by 2 sons-Kenneth and wife Marilyn Dusenberry, Albuquerque,NM and Donald and wife Alice Dusenberry, Wakefield, MA; a step daughter, Sharon P. and husband Marcellous Orange, Warminister, PA. Also 2 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandson,5 Step Grandchildren and 10 Step Great Grandchildren, 1 Step Great, Great Grandchild and several Nephews and Nieces. Predeceased by a Daughter, Lois Dusenberry; a Step Daughter, Sharmon Poole, 2 Brothers Robert and Ralph and their wives and her first Husband, Robert Dusenberry.



A memorial service will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, May 19 at Heath Village, 430 Schooleys Mountain Road, Hackettstown, N.J. Burial will be private.
