Virginia L. DeJonge, loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, age 76, of Spring Hill, FL., formerly of Hackettsown, NJ died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Regional Medical Center Of Bayonet Point, Hudson, FL. Mrs. DeJonge was born July 1, 1936 in Passaic, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Matis) Hortwick.

She lived in Belleville, NJ and married her childhood sweetheart, Richard DeJonge on March 28, 1953. They moved their family to Hackettstown, NJ in 1964 where she lived until 2008 when she and her husband moved to Florida. She spent this past summer in the Hackettstown area, which she loved dearly and had just recently returned to Florida.

She was employed by Metro Hotsy for  35 years, (Hackettstown and Belvidere)NJ as an Office Manager. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 164 since 1980.

She is survived by her husband: Richard "Dick" DeJonge, Sr. and Daughter Linda DeJonge and her companion, Jeff Tynan of Spring Hill, FL; Daughter in law, Karen DeJonge and grandaughters, Katie and Jenny DeJonge, Bangor, PA;  Great nieces and great nephew and great great nephews and great niece.She was predeceased by her son, Rick and her sister, Mary Lou Wilbert. 

Calling hours will be Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 4:00 - 8:00PM at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will hold a service at 7:30 PM.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012, 11:00 AM at the Cochran Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Hackettstown Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ
