Dearest Elizabeth, you, Barbara and Donald have been on my mind alot recently and I googled Barbara's name to see if I can find an address to write to her and have found now that she has passed in 2013. My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to you all on behalf of my mum, her siblings and my husband and our children here in Australia and New Zealand. I will NEVER forget the kindness that you all showed me when I was an au pair in New York and how wonderfully you treated me as part of the Greacen family. I am very grateful that Barbara answered my letter all those years ago and for the times I got to spend with her and with you all. Barbara was truly a special person that I know God placed into my life for a very special reason. Praying that you are all well and please accept our families sympathies on your loss of Barbara, an absolutely amazing and kind and loving woman who I was very grateful to call my Aunt. Lots of love, Jazz xxx

For though she is now lighter than your
Thoughts,
You will recognize the effervescence of her

Beckon". I still miss you my dearest of friends. you will always be in my heart xoxox

To Barbara's Family,
I'm so sorry to learn of "Aunt" Barbara's death just today. She was a great friend to my mother, Lou Piagesi, and filled a void in my life when Mom passed away two years ago. She became part of our family. Barbara was a beautiful person in every way possible.

Our deepest sympathies to Barbara's relatives and all others who knew her. We first met Barbara at Sleepy Hollow Restorations, where she was a costumed interpreter at Sunnyside, the home of Washington Irving in Tarrytown. We were always impressed with her upbeat manner; she was never without a smile on her face or a friendly attitude. We saw her only a few times after that and only recently learned of her many artistic talents. The miles may have separated us, but we will miss her deeply.

"...and I think of each life as a flower, as common as a field daisy, and as singular,...and each body a lion of courage, and something precious to the earth." (lines from a poem by Mary Oliver) Barb was certainly as singular as a field daisy and by all means a lion of courage. We shall miss our precious friend. "Babe" Lee
