Marilyn Helen Campbell, 71, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away on Tuesday, May 7th after a two-month long battle with illness. Born October 25, 1947, in Hazleton, PA, Marilyn is the daughter of the late John and Helen (Baumer) Kovalesky of Minersville, PA. Marilyn grew up in Montgomery, PA before moving to NJ and graduating from Battin High School in Elizabeth, NJ. She worked for many years at AT&T and Lucent Technologies where she made some dear, life-long friends.
In the early years, Marilyn and her family spent many summers at the family shore house in Bayville, NJ. For many years she enjoyed working with the Vienna United Methodist Youth. In later years she enjoyed
going to Musikfest every summer in Bethlehem, PA. She enjoyed her retirement and spent much of it
traveling with her husband Jim, for weekend trips to unique and scenic places up and down the East
Coast. Together they also took several winter-long trips to visit friends and enjoy warmer weather in
Pawley's Island, SC and Key West, FL. She was her daughter's biggest fan and was always closely
involved with everything her daughter loved to do. She also enjoyed visiting with her daughter and son-
in-law at their home in the mountains of Northern PA and getting back to some of her PA roots. She was
an avid NASCAR fan and loved to cheer for Kevin Harvick every week. She was a resident of Independence Township for over 40 years. Marilyn will be long remembered for being a devoted wife and mother, a loyal daughter, and a faithful friend.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy Campbell, her daughter, Terry (Campbell) Perrine and son- in-law Donald, of Benton, PA, and her brother-in-law Robert Sherkness, of Forked River, NJ. She is also
preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Carole (Campbell) Sherkness.
Visitation hours will be Thursday, May 9 from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High
Street, Hackettstown, NJ.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10 at 10:00 am at Cochran Funeral Home officiated by
Pastor Karl Dyrli of Fellowship Church in Dallas, PA. Interment will follow at Pequest Union Cemetery,
Cemetery Road, Great Meadows, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Marilyn Campbell to WRGN,

With our most sincere condolences at the passing of your most beloved wife & mother.
Knowing Marilyn was memorable for all of us. She was a fun filled lady, never lost for words.
Famous for her "Potato Soup"; She would cook up a fresh pot then dish out bowls to Terry & Karen to taste test. Its anonymous, delicious!
She will be missed. May you find comfort in sharing memories, stories & pictures with family. & friends. You will find comfort in knowing she rests in peace. She will remain forever in the hearts that knew & loved her. We are thankful, as a family, we had the pleasure of meeting Marilyn. Her memory will remain with us. God's Blessings.

I am so to hear of Marilyn's passing. Our friendship started at AT&T where we worked together for many years until I moved to Florida. Time has passed and we never seemed to see one another again but she was always in my thoughts. Rest peacefully Marilyn.

Jim:
We are saddened to hear of Marilyn's passing. She joins too many others from a special group of old friends that have passed on. She will be missed. There will be rough times ahead but take solace in knowing that you have family and friends for support. Unfortunately, since we're in Michigan helping Adrienne with her week old new born, we will not be able to attend the viewing. Nevertheless our thoughts will be with you, Terry and Donald.
With sincerest condolences,
Duane and Patti Spyer
