Doris E. DeWitt, 100 of Washington Twp., Morris Co., N.J. died friday, November 9, 2012 in her residence at Heath Village where she has lived for the past 5 years.
Born August 4, 1912 in Pleasant Grove, N.J., Doris was the only child of the late Hutton & Carrie Post Schulyer. She has been a resident of the greater Pleasant Grove & Hackettstown, N.J. area all of her life.
Doris retired many years ago from Centenary College, Hackettstown, N.J. where she worked in the housekeeping department.  She was a lifelong member of the Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church. She also loved attending to her garden and playing bingo with her friends, often at the Hackettstown Senior Center. Over the years, Doris enjoyed observing nature and always had a trusting companion, one of the many family dogs by her side.
She is survived by two Sons, George Frone & his wife Regina of Long Valley, N.J. and Joseph DeWitt & his wife Nancy of Independence, N.J., 5 Loving Grandchildren - George Frone, Jr., Debra Bergstol, Jennifer Del Preore, Jessica DeWitt & Jane DeWitt. 5 Great Grandchildren - Brian, Jaclyn, Kristen, Joshua & Shannon. Her husband John C. DeWitt, died in 1963.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, 11-13-12 from 4 -7 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, N.J. 07840. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 on Wednesday, 11-14-12 at the funeral home.   Interment will be at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Pleasant Grove, N.J..
