Geraldine Huizenga Stibrany

Geraldine Huizenga Stibrany, age 80, of Washington Township, Long Valley, NJ died Monday, October 8, 2012 at St. Clare’s Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover, NJ. Geraldine was born February 21, 1932 in Paterson, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Casper and May (Kooger) Huizenga.

She was employed by Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, New Jersey as a Draftsman.
Geraldine was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church for over 68 Years. Geraldine volunteered many hours for her local church that she loved so much. Geraldine's "labor of Love" hours included teaching Sunday school, cleaning and painting of the large Sunday school room, Chairperson of the Annual Bazaar & Turkey Dinner, Chairperson of the New Organ Fund in which they raised $40,000. Treasurer of the English Hand Bell Choir at the Church, past Secretary for the United Methodist Women. Geraldine was also a member of the church choir for over 20 years. In addition to her volunteer work with the church, Geraldine also spent many hours on the road driving people back and forth to doctor appts. and hospital visits.
Family was everything to Geraldine and loved being with them when she was not volunteering at her church. She was a dedicated homeroom mother going on class trips and helping in the class room, she also worked on the Morris County Election Board and the Washington Twp. and West Morris school election boards.
Geraldine was a graduate of Hackettstown High School Class of 1950 she also received a certificate in mechanical drafting at the West Morris Adult School.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin Stibrany and Robert Stibrany; a sister, Elizabeth VanHorn; many nieces and nephews; predeceased by a brother, Late Casper Huizenga.

The funeral will be held 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. Burial will be in Hackettstown Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ following the funeral service.

Calling hours will be Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM Noon at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.
