Dear Joanne and family Sending my prayers and condolences to your family in the huge loss of your father and PopPop. We all lost a tremendous human being. I remember Mr Sheldon’s smile at every wrestling match my brother had from my freshman to senior year in high school, then my nephews 25 years later. Ever present in the gym with that never ending smile. A light has gone out in Hackettstown that will never shine again. RIP Sir and thank you for your continuing service to our country and community. Sending hugs Joanne. Love you sorry I had to work or I would have been at his services. Angelika Leitner

We pray that the many memories that Bob left with you, and indeed with the town and school system he so dearly loved, will bring you comfort now and smiles and laughter in the coming days. Condolences to the Sheldon family and to Hackettstown. He was everywhere during the years I covered the town. I will never forget the night the fieldhouse burned. I had a brand new camera, my first Nikon. Bob told me to stick by him because he never got wet from the fire hoses. So I did. And immediately we got soaked. I never let him forget it. I know so many people around town have similar great stories about Bob. He will be missed.

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Sadly, such losses are something we have to deal with … for now. When it occurs, we all look for a source of comfort as we grieve, help to ease the pain, the sense of emptiness. May you find comfort in these inspired words of Isaiah, “Your dead will live. … the earth will let those powerless in death come to life.” (Isa.26:19) God has promised us that millions of the dead are alive in His memory and He shows us in His Word how we can hope to see them again in the future in a cleansed earth.

Dear Sheldon Family My Wife Robin and I were very saddened to hear of Mr. Bob's passing, and though our hearts are heavy at this loss of a true Hackettstown Treasure, we have I am afraid no possible words that will be able to comfort, and have you all in Prayer before our Heavenly FATHER who alone can Comfort. It is not idle words calling Mr. Bob a True Hackettstown Treasure, a Firefighter for 55 years, Hackettstown Police Officer, Board of Education Security Officer, Outstanding long time Little League coach, and also held a full time job at JCP&L it is enough accomplishments for two lifetimes! Mr. Bob will be sorrily missed and as a Former Fire Chief, Former Alternate Mayor and Councilman I would like to personally thank your Family for sharing your Dad with us all these year. May the LORD Bess You and Keep You, May HE Make HIS Face To Shine Upon You And Give You All The Peace HE Alone Can l during this difficult time, Through Christ Our LORD. GOD Bless Paul & Robin Wallace

Just to think of all the lives he touched as Baseball Coach for the PBA and as Security at HHS sporting events. Over the years I can guess Thousands of people of all ages. I personally had the pleasure of working with Bob at HHS a few years ago and he became a big part of my heart. Bob was so Proud of Hackettstown and Loved his Security job at HHS. I admire him so much for still working security with amazing passion after he became sick. The man is a Hero in my eyes and a very good friend. I had the pleasure of catching one last Root Beer Candy from Bob at his Dedication at Morrison Field a week ago. Our deepest Sympathy and Condolences to the Sheldon Family and Friends. May the cherished wonderful thoughts and memories help ease the pain of your loss. Such a Great American RIP Bob

My deepest sympathy to the Sheldon family...Bob and I had an agreement we set up when my sons first started playing basketball---He would save me a front row parking spot at the gym, so I could leave the restaurant right at game time and not park far away, and when he and his lovely wife would come into the Pumphouse on a busy night, they never waited for a table! He will be missed by so many.... RIP Mr. Sheldon

I knew Bob from the time I started to attend dances at Hackettstown High School in the early 1960s. He always had a smile and a candy for me, and that continued for many years, as I would see him at many other events in town. My condolences to Bob's family and friends. He will be missed but not forgotten.

You always brightened our family gatherings-as a child I love your endless candy giving, Trick-or-treating from a bowl for of large M & M candies, always loved yours and Judy’s generousity. Enjoyed walking up the railroad tracks with Janice and Jody. As an adult, you always shared candies and made it extra special. Even through all your weathered days, you still smiled and came to events. Your a strong and inspirational man. You will be missed greatly by all!! You are in no pain and dancing with Judy, my Mom, Rena and Frank in heaven. Although cousin Frank will probably be up to his shenanigans, your going to have to keep him in line. Love you Bob! My thoughts and prayers go out to you all ❤️
