George Hunter Gruebert

George Hunter Gruebert, 77, of Long Valley, NJ died Monday, May 6, 2013 at his residence. Born in Orange, NJ to the late George and Mary Jane (Trickey) Gruebert on October 15, 1935. He is married to Elizabeth (Norton) Gruebert.
Hunter lived in Long Valley (Washington Township, Morris Co.) for 50 years coming from Boonton, NJ. He was a Foreman for NJ Bell (Verizon), Netcong, NJ. He was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers, Netcong, NJ; he enjoyed spending time with family, most especially his grandchildren; was a roller coaster enthusiast, loved hunting, fishing, scuba diving, horseback riding, playing cards, boating, camping, was a football coach for the Long Valley Raiders and a baseball coach.
Survivors including his wife Elizabeth "Libby" (celebrating this year 50 years married); sons John Blaine Gruebert and wife Amy Smith and James Hunter and wife Patti Gruebert; daughters Amy Elizabeth and husband Bill Rhead and Heidi Michelle and husband Tom Glancey; grandchildren, Jake, Christina, Kasey, Billy, Tommy, Michael, Matthew and Megan.
Visitation on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 4:00 - 8:00 PM with the Funeral Service to start at 8:00 PM after the Visitation at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840
Interment is private.
