David Batson, 81 of Budd Lake, NJ passed away at his home on Saturday, August 13, 2016. Born in Dover, NJ on August 24, 1934, David was the son of the late Edward C. & Elizabeth J. Seward Batson. David lived in Budd Lake all of his life and was proud to maintain his home and yard keeping it in a pristine condition. He served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion in Wharton, NJ. David loved to play golf, watch the Yankees and meet the “gang” at Rosie’s Restaurant every morning.  He was also, a proud member of the Budd Lake Fire Department.  David is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Eigner Batson at home. One daughter, Sharon Batson Anthony and her husband Edward of Plainfield, NJ. One sister, Betty Jean Hofmann and her husband Robert of Budd Lake, NJ. One sister in law, Barbara Batson of Budd Lake. Two grandchildren, Luke & Taylor as well as two great grandchildren, Julianna & David. He was also survived by one Nephew and three nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Robert. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840. 10:00am funeral services will take place on Wednesday at the funeral home.
