Tena Bakker Harriman

Tena Bakker Harriman - 86, a lifelong resident of Hackettstown, N.J., passed into God's Kingdom on Sunday, 3-3-13 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center.
Born in Friesland, Netherlands on August 29, 1926, Tena was the daughter of the late Samuel & Gertrude Dykstra Bakker. Her family moved to the United States in 1927 and established the Bakker Farmstead in Hackettstown.
Employed by Fieldler's Reality of Hackettstown, Tena retired many years ago as a secretary.  A pillar of faith, the rock of her family, a loving and selfless servant.  Beautiful to the core, a tireless worker, a sincere listener, a guiding light to all and a Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two sisters, Cornelia (Katy) Groover and Shirley Baldwin of Hackettstown, NJ.  One brother, Raymond Bakker of California, scores of nieces and nephew's and three loving children; Ted Palko of Ocala, Fla. and his wife Sherry, Kathy Palko of Hackettstown, N.J. and Mike Palko and his wife Patty of Hackettstown,  Eleven Grandchildren and five Great-Grandchildren including Corinne Elizabeth King born March 1, 2013.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Palko in 1979 and her second husband, Warren Harriman in 2010, One brother, Dave Bakker and two sisters, Ann Sharland and Rena Gulick.
Viewing hours will be on Wednesday, 3-6-13 from 4 to 7pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.07840.  Funeral Services will take place at 11am on Thursday, 3-7-13 at the Hackettstown Baptist Church, Rte 517, Hackettstown, N.J. 07840. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery, Hackettstown. Those considering donations in Lieu of flowers are asked to please consider giving to the church in Mrs. Harriman's name.  online condolences may be sent to the family at www.cochranfuneral.com.
She has now joined her sorely missed and beloved husband, Warren Harriman.  Their faith has brought them together again and they are dancing without pain....

After hearing of Tena's passing, I felt as if something beautiful had been lost to the world. She was a lovely woman - so outgoing and friendly and loved the Lord and others. She was always fun to be with. I'm praying for God's comfort and peace for you during this difficult time.
