William F. Howering, age 86, Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Forest Manor Health Care Ctr. of Frelinghuysen Township, NJ. William lived in Tranquility, Green Township, NJ for 29 years coming from Stockholm, NJ and was born July 13, 1925 in Bloomfield, NJ. He is the son of the late Charles A. and the late Anna Margaret (Kage) Howering. William is also predeceased by his late twin brother: Robert "Bob" Howering, another late brother; Walter Howering; his 2 late sisters: Marianne Peterson and Betty Edden.

He was married Deanna C. White Bowser Howering on May 21, 1905, they were married for 43 years.

He served in the United States Army during World War II in Burma and China from 4/5/1944 to 4/13/1946. Bill received his chemical engineering degree from Newark School of Engineering and worked at Picatinny Arsenal, Research and Development Center, Dover, NJ retiring in 1985. He loved woodworking, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife: Deanna C.(White Bowser) Howering, 2 step sons: Douglas & wife Lisa Bowser and Rodney Bowser; 1 sister in law, Barbara Howering; 2 Step Grandsons and fishing buddies: James & John Bowser

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, January 26 at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Pastor Richard Peters officiating.

Calling hours will be Thursday, January 26 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.
