James G. Hofmann, age 82, of Succasunna, resided most of his life in Hackettstown, NJ died Monday, January 5, 2015 at Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover, NJ. James was born August 22, 1932 in Carbondale, PA. He is the son of the late John and Mary (Murphy) Hofmann. He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn (Julian) Hofmann, by his brother; Jack Hofmann and sister; Ann Freeman. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1952 to 1960. He was employed by M & M Mars, Hackettstown as an Accounts Payable Clerk for many years before retiring. James was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 10419, Long Valley, NJ. Jim loved spending time with his cherished grandchildren. He is survived by his 2 sons; James Hofmann and companion Joseph Nigliazzo, David Hofmann and his wife Susan; 2 daughters; Elizabeth Leyden and husband Michael, Theresa Hofmann and her companion Francis Orabano; 1 brother; Joseph Hofmann and wife Betty. 1 sister, Mary Brady and husband Tom; 8 Grandchildren, Luke, Gabrielle, Hannah, Emily, Kayla, Cameron, Corrine and Joy, 1 sister in law; Patricia Hofmann and 1 brother in law; John Freeman. A funeral mass will be held 10:30am on Thursday, January 15 at Our Lady of the Mountain RC Church, 2 East Springtown Road, Long Valley, NJ with Father Abuchi officiating. Cremation was private. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, January 14 from 6pm - 9 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ. Online condolences may be made at www.cochranfuneral.com. Our prayers are with you during this time. Your dad is joining so many loved ones in Heaven, that are there to welcome him home. We were sitting at dinner, with my parents Joe and Bette, remembering the many memories of your Mom and Dad, laughing and smiling.
