Carl and I went to elementary school and high school together. Our families were friends. As John said, Mendham was a place where everyone knew everyone. There are just so many good memories of Carl and his family. I'm glad I was able to catch up with him on FB. He will be fondly remembered. My thoughts and prayers to everyone in his family. He will be truly missed.

Dear Youngman family. Carl and I were best friends. We grew up in BROOKSIDE NJ, Ask Richard Horner, not Mendham. It was the most beautiful place in are hearts. Our town was a unique village, everyone knew everything, a safe haven for all.In retrospect there was no better place to live. The 4th of July parade,Bockovens farm, Trout fishing with Donnie B in the stream across from the old Bolton Store,Carl raising a colt, and eating raw potatoes.Carl's dad was a special mentor and his mother was mine also in many ways.We would ride our bikes through Jockey Hollow Park for 18 miles collecting soda bottles in the summer and go to Joe's place in Mendham and all would share and have a hamburger, coke and fries.Although it has been many years I have never forgotten the last time I saw him.He was in his early 20's, Working with his Dad building a home as his father had done for many years. His father even created a housing development in chester and named almost all the streets after his children, Too cool!.He stayed and continued his fathers legacy and became a very well respected contractor.Although I left Brookside at an early age, I will never forget you Carl. In my heat I will always reflect on all you goodness and your family's generosity. Rest in peace my friend for we shall meet again. Love John.

We are saddened to learn of the loss of Carl, our Facebook friend. Carl and his relatives were an important connection to the Holmes family in Florida. We grew up hearing stories from our dad Charlie. The stories were about Carl's father and his brothers and sisters and how our father, who had been an only child, found himself a wonderful family. We always enjoyed visits with the New Jersey Youngmans and Ted Eible. We will miss our New Jersey connection.
